Meet Our New Buy Center Manager, Doug Thurston!

Meet Doug Thurston

Doug grew up in the automotive industry right next door in Wallingford where he got his start in detail before moving up the chain to sales, marketing, BDC, and vehicle acquisition.

“It’s a very different side of the industry, going from selling to buying, working for non-dealership companies,” he tells us. “I met Jake Mauro when I was working for Kelly Blue Book in 2019, and people would tell me ‘look how well Mauro Motors is doing with pre-owned buying and selling’ and I didn’t forget that. When he approached me about this position this year, I jumped at it.”

Doug tells us he uses his background in both the dealer and vendor side of the business when looking at cars and creating pricing strategy for our Mauro Motors pre-owned center, and is always looking for ways to keep the inventory high in a hot market.

“We’re going to keep buying aggressively, and I think we’re becoming THE place to sell your car in Connecticut.”
