Meet Our Commercial Sales Manager: Patrick MacCarthy

Meet Patrick MacCarthy, our man for all things van. As Commercial Sales Manager, Patrick can be found in Mauro Motors’ new Mercedes-Benz Van Center of North Haven, where he oversees sales of Sprinter vans to our commercial customers, as well as custom builds, tricked out for use as limousines, off-road RVs for fans of travel and van life, and whatever a customer can imagine.

Patrick was born in Guilford and has lived in Connecticut his whole life. He left his first career at Foxwoods to accept a position at a Mercedes-Benz dealership in New London, and he has been with the brand ever since. As the commercial sales manager in New London with a staff of just himself, he did everything.

“If someone had a service issue, a sales lead, anything, they came to me because they knew me,” he tells us. “I’ve worked for Mercedes-Benz for fifteen years, so I know all the systems and expectations.”

The big difference between selling Mercedes-Benz cars and SUVs and commercial Sprinter vans? He tells us he’s selling one thing: time.

“You have to honor a client’s time, because they’re out there working,” he begins. “They’re focused on what they need and when they can get it, because they need that work to be done. When you show you understand their needs, are knowledgeable about the product, and can deliver on expectations, you earn that trust and have a client for life.”

Patrick himself is a family man with two children, and active with his passion project, music. He’s a DJ who regularly plays clubs and festivals.

“To me it’s soul-filling,” he explains. “I’m playing, I’m attending shows, it’s my heart. That’s how I fill up that bucket so I can give everything I can to my family and my work.”
