With this unique feature, you get the combined power of an I-4 gas engine and a 48-volt lithium-ion battery. Together, these components power the water pump, lower the weight, and enhance the underhood packaging. The electric assistance gives you an additional gas-free 23 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque.
This version of 4MATIC® can send 0-100% of the engine’s torque to any front or rear axle at any time. The torque distribution is varied via a transfer case with a multi-disc clutch that monitors driving conditions in real time. This allows for a precise response for appropriate conditions and enhances handling in any condition by changing the rotation of the vehicle.
Choose from four preset drive modes: ECO, Comfort, Sport, and Off-Road. You also get to choose from an Individual mode that you can configure a la carte. Each mode adapts the throttle response, shift programming, ESP, and more. You can easily select any of these drive modes with the dial in the vehicle’s performance character.
Not only does the GLE SUV offer massage capabilities on the front seats, but there are eight different programs to choose from. Some of these massage programs include two spa-like "hot stone" massages and an "active workout" program.
This feature lets you start the GLE SUV without having to take your smart key out of your pocket. You can lock and unlock the doors by pushing the exterior handles. You can also start the engine by stepping on the brake pedal and pushing the Start/Stop button on the dashboard.

The large multimedia display screen allows you to easily access all of your applications with the touch of a button or the swipe of a finger. There are three methods of control: touchscreen, console touchpad, and touch-control steering wheel. You can also use voice control to activate the multimedia display screen.
